Encan 10 - Vendée Globe Edition

L’Encan 10, official knife of the 10th edition of the Vendée Globe.
An iconic knife that we have revisited to give it the codes of this legendary race.
Made from oak, the GPS coordinates of the starting line have been engraved on the top of the handle and the logo on the blade. A serration has been added to cut the ends and a string in the colours of the Vendée Globe.
The Vendée Globe
The biggest solo, non-stop, unassisted round-the-world race.
Theoretically 45,000 km or 24,300 miles, in reality it is rather an average of 28,000 miles or 52,000 km, across climates and oceans which sometimes require changes of course.
200 competitors have taken the start of this extraordinary race over the nine editions of this Everest of the seas. Only 114 of them have managed to cross the finish line. That is to say how extremely difficult the race is.
An extraordinary adventure but also freezing cold, immense waves and heavy skies.
This year, the departure is on November 10th, 40 sailors on the line for the great voyage.
The Encan
The “Encan” owes its name to the place where it was imagined and created, the old fish market of La Rochelle. It is the ideal pocket companion. Practical, light, ultra-efficient.
The locking system invented by Farol allows you to unlock with a small thumb movement a wire spring that holds the blade in the open position. The blade is mounted with a naval carpentry rivet and this is what gives all the robustness to this knife.
From the tip of the blade to the end of the handle, everything is entirely made in our workshop, with passion and high standards.
